Joel H. Forman passed away on September 19th in Atlanta, GA. His life ended at age 82, leaving behind a legacy of love, memories, and priceless stories.
Joel was born in Boston to parents, the late Morris Forman & Lillian Suvalle. He grew up a true Boston kid and was most proud to have graduated from Boston Latin School.
Joel is survived by his beloved partner of many years, Susan L. Scheller and his brother and sister-in-law, Stanley & Ellen Forman. He is also survived by his niece, Judith Forman, nephew Michael Forman and his wife Michelle and his cherished grand-nieces and grand-nephew, Sloane Murphy and Darby and Jonas Forman.
He spent his professional career in financial management, with many years in Atlanta at the American Cancer Society headquarters.
Joel connected with people everywhere he went. He had longtime friendships and would do his best to keep in touch with all. Joel was happiest when he was helping a friend or negotiating a deal. He was a “car guy,” buying and selling numerous personal cars, helping others buy a car and driving in his host of snazzy Corvettes.
He will be sorely missed by all who knew and loved him.
Joel’s life will be honored on Thursday, September 25th at Sharon Memorial Park, 40 Dedham Street, Sharon with a graveside service beginning at 10:45AM. Those attending services should meet behind the administration building on the cemetery grounds prior to services.
Shiva will be observed at the home of Ellen & Stanley Forman of Canton immediately following the interment.
