Sidney Solow of Randolph, formerly of Quincy, passed away on Tuesday, June 14 at South Shore Hospital in Weymouth. He was 80 years of age.

Born in Malden, Sidney was the devoted son of the late Hyman & Pearl (Cooperband) Solow. Mr. Solow worked as a 911 Supervising Dispatcher for the Norwood Fire Department for over 25 years.

Sidney was the loving husband of 58 years to Shirley (Francer) Solow. He is also survived by his son Howard Solow (Ret. Randolph PD) & his wife Angela and his daughter Risa Michenzie.  He was the cherished grandfather of Daniel, Dayna, Hailey, Madison & Erica and dear brother of the late Morris Solow and Bernice Kent.

A chapel service will be held on Friday, June 17 at 10am at Schlossberg Family’s Chapel on the Hill, 824 Washington Street in Canton, with the interment to follow at Lindwood Memorial Park, 497 North Street, Randolph.

Memorial Observances will be held immediately following the burial at The Chateau Restaurant, Stoughton and on Saturday from 12-4pm at the home of Howard & Angela Solow, Stoughton, MA.

Donations in Sidney’s memory may be made to Dana Farber Cancer Institute or to the charity of one’s choice.

    Hello Howard and Family, I am sorry to hear of the loss of your dad. I did not know him but I did know your uncle Morris from many years ago who was a friend of my dads and your cousins. I wanted to express my sincerest condolences
