Richard Marshall Mazer, (81) of Hales Location, North Conway, NH, was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather. He passed away peacefully with his daughter by his side on September 4, 2025, just one month after the death of his beloved wife of many years, Sandra L. Mazer, who preceded him on August 2, 2025.
Born in Boston, MA, to Hyman Mazer and Francine Toppan, Richard—known to many as Rick—moved with his family to California at a young age. That journey, an epic cross-country voyage in an Airstream, sparked in him a lifelong love of travel and adventure.
Rick grew up along the beaches of Southern California, where he worked as a lifeguard, cultivating his lifelong connection to the ocean. Later in life, he carried that passion back east, spending cherished days in Little Compton, Rhode Island, and at the family’s Cape Cod home.
He also found joy in the fresh mountain air of their home in Mount Washington Valley, NH where he fostered in his daughter a lifelong passion for skiing that became a cherished part of family life for his grandchildren.
Avid golfers, Rick and Sandy shared countless rounds together, exploring new courses during their RV travels across the country. Among the many joys of his life were Rick and Sandy’s days spent with friends through their various golf club memberships along the way, where the game was always as much about friendship as it was about golf. Their many adventures together built memories that their family will forever hold close.
Professionally, Rick founded Northeast Tire, a wholesale import tire company, where his sharp business acumen and tireless work ethic established a legacy of success. Through his vision, he created a better life not only for his daughter, but also for the generations to follow.
Above all, Rick was devoted to his family. He is survived by his loving daughter and son in-law Charna Mazer Cummings and Christopher M. Cummings, along with his cherished grandchildren, Liam M. Cummings and Nolan J. Cummings.
His quick wit, wise counsel, and unwavering support will be remembered always, especially by those he worked hardest to uplift—his grandchildren, to whom he was deeply committed in helping secure a brighter future.
Though we grieve his passing, we celebrate the life he lived and the enduring legacy he leaves behind. The beautiful love story he shared with Sandy continues, as Rick and Sandy will be laid to rest side by side, together again in eternal peace.
