Richard was very active in veterinary organizations. He served as president of the MVMA, and he received their distinguished service award in 1993. He was passionate about education and led fundraising efforts at Touchstone Community School, the Central MA Branch of the IWFS (where he also served as President, as well as Wine & Food Chair), and the Veterinary Scholarship Trust of New England.

Richard was the son of Dr. Sidney and Seena Heller and is survived by his wife of 52 years, Lynda; his daughter Adin; his brother Warren (Debbie) and sister Linda Heard; uncle Jon Heller; aunt Joanne Heller; nieces Amy Shea, Julie Campisi, and Carol Matscheck; cousins Fred and Beth Heller; and cats Noilly and Kina.

Our heartfelt condolences to the Heller family. It’s been over twenty years since we lived in Milford but we remember the Heller family well through TBS. As well, Adin babysat our daughter sometimes when she was a toddler/preschooler and I always thought it was neat that I shared Richard’s mom’s name (still have never met another). Please know we are thinking of all of you at this time.
