Phyllis (Rodman) Fazzio of Stoughton, formerly of Sharon passed away on Sunday, June 25th, 2023, at 94 years of age. She was the devoted daughter of the late Jacob and Rachael Rodman. Phyllis was the beloved wife of the late Charles Fazzio and was the. loving mother of Charles “Chuck” Fazzio of Bridgewater and Nancy Burns & her husband Donald of Taunton and. the dear sister of Robert Rodman of Avon, CT. Phyllis will be fondly remembered by her many nieces and nephews.
Family and friends are invited to Chuck’s home on Thursday, June 29th and Friday ,June 30th from 3:00pm – 8:00pm. A celebration of Phyllis’s life has been planned for Saturday, September 16th, 2023, also at Chuck’s home.
Phyllis enjoyed a long, rewarding, and distinguished career as the longtime Director of The Step One Early Intervention Program, operated by the South Shore Metal Health Center, which is available to families of infants and toddlers with special needs. Before assuming her position at South Shore Mental Health Center Phyllis held teaching and director positions at the Newton Girl Scout Council; Head Teacher at the Hecht House in Boston; Teacher and Director of the Brockton YM and WHA; Preschool Teacher at the Cerebral Palsy Clinic and at South Shore Mental Health Center, both in Quincy. She served as a consultant to South Shore Day Care in Randolph, and to Head Start. And served as Vice President of Institutional Teachers, Chapter of SEI, Local 509.
Upon her retirement in June of 1999, The Quincy City Council honored Phyllis in recognition and appreciation of outstanding service to the community. She was the winner of the Rosemary Wahlberg Humanitarian Award for her leadership and extraordinary commitment to improving the lives of low-income families living in the Metro south area of Boston.
