ADLER, Burton S. (Bud) of Sharon, MA, entered into rest on June 27, 2023, at the age of 96.

Bud was predeceased by his beloved wife Janice. Devoted father of Andrew Adler and his wife, Susan and Margie Cohen and her husband, Bill. Cherished grandfather of Joshua Adler and fiancé, Cortney Greene, Katie Letendre and spouse, Kyle, Michael Adler, Ally Cohen, David Cohen, and Brian Cohen. Bud was predeceased by parents, Charles and Shirley Adler.

Bud grew up in Roxbury and lived in Sharon, MA, for 66 years. He graduated from Boston Latin School in 1944. He then earned a Bachelor of Science degree from UMass, Amherst. He went on to get a master’s degree in psychology from Boston University. Bud served in three branches of the military, Army Air Core, Navy and retired as a Major in the United States Air Force. He worked as Head Psychologist for Medfield State Hospital. He also practiced psychology for the Air Force. He then worked for the Jewish Vocational Service counseling inmates and doing vocational testing. He later created an executive recruitment agency with his partner Morris Gallant for thirty plus years. He was a proud member of the Sharon Men’s Club and helped start the Choral group,” Hits and Misses”. He loved cribbage, tennis, and most of all loved meeting and conversing with people. He made friends wherever he went. The staff and residents at Whitney Place, Sharon will greatly miss his humor and caring nature.

Funeral Services will be held Friday, June 30, at 11:00 AM at Schlossberg Family’s Chapel on the Hill, 824 Washington St., Canton, MA. Burial will follow at Sharon Memorial Park.

In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy in Bud’s memory may be made to Friends of the Sharon Council on Aging.
