Phyllis Arlene Shiro, 79, passed away on March 14, 2026. She was born on December 31st , 1946, in Chelsea, Massachusetts, to the late Rose and Jack Grossman. She was a dedicated wife to the late David Shiro for 16 years.
Phyllis cared deeply for other people, including her long-time friends and her Norwood “mom” friends. She was a devoted fan of the Boston Celtics, never missed her favorite soap operas, and truly cherished the time she spent catching up with loved ones on the phone and in person. Phyllis’ most important relationship was with her son, Lee and her three grandchildren. She always looked forward to celebrating holidays with her family and friends. Some of her fondest memories include growing up on Revere Beach, time with her friends, and of course her dog Brandy.
She is survived by her son, Lee Shiro, and his wife, Liz; her cherished grandchildren, Rose, Eliana, and Jacob Shiro; and her brother, Steve Grossman.
A graveside service will be held at Lincoln Park Cemetery, 1469 Post Road in Warwick, Rhode Island, on March 18, 2026, at 11:00AM.
Memorial observance at the home of Lee & Elizabeth Shiro following the burial from 2-8PM and continuing Thursday, 3-8PM.
