HELEN E. SINGER (Ackerman) of Potomac, MD, formerly of Norwood. passed away on May 18th, just a few weeks before her 102nd birthday. She was born in Newton, the daughter of the late Joseph & Annie (Weiner) Ackerman. Helen was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She was the beloved wife of the late Samuel Singer and was the loving mother of Stephen Singer & his wife Janet (Bell) Singer, Rabbi Richard Singer & his wife Miriam (Novice) Singer and the late Gary Singer & his surviving wife Paula (Noyes) Singer. Helen was the cherished grandmother of Beth Whitten & her husband Kevan, Scott Singer & his wife Rochelle, Eric Singer & his wife Ebony, Samantha Spencer & her husband Kevin, Batya Berger & her husband Aaron, Moshe Singer & his wife Leora, Avraham Singer & his wife Frayda, Akiva Singer & his wife Chaya Peryl, Yaakov Singer & his wife Leah and Chaim Singer. Helen was the proud great-grandmother of 25 great grandchildren. She was the dear sister of the late Mary Sorgman, Sylvia Myers, Jimmy Ackerman and Aaron Ackerman. Helen was the aunt of Gloria Kaplan & her husband Norman.
A graveside funeral service will be held at Sharon Memorial Park, 40 Dedham Street, Sharon on Tuesday, May 21st at 2:45pm. Those attending services should meet behind the administration building on the cemetery grounds.
