Diane E. (Klepper) Cohen of Milford, died Saturday, June 1, 2024, at her home in Milford at the age of 96. Her passing was as she wanted, at home with her family by her side. Diane suffered a stroke on Sunday, May 26th and quickly drifted into unconsciousness until her death on Saturday.
Diane was the daughter of the late Julius and Minnie (Webber) Klepper. Wife of the late Myer Cohen. Mother of Mitchell Cohen and his wife Ellen of Enfield, CT, Audrey Bennett and her husband Andy of Upton. She was also the Grandmother of Jarrett (Jessica) Bennett of Bedford, NH, Derek Bennett of Waitsfield, VT, Michael (Katie) Cohen of Otis, MA, and Rebecca Cohen of Enfield, Ct. Diane was also the great-grandmother of Tanner, Dakota, and Chase. She will forever be remembered as a “small but fierce and feisty” woman who loved being with her family.
Diane (born Edith Klepper) was born and grew up in the West End of Boston and attended Brandeis Vocational High School where she was voted most courteous and most helpful. After high school, she began a career as a bookkeeper until her marriage in 1959. After her children entered school, she began volunteering and eventually began a career as an elementary school teacher’s aide. She loved sewing and she was an excellent, detail-oriented seamstress. Her dream of being a fashion designer was not realized but her love for designing clothes never ended. Her other hobby included returning things.
A small family graveside service will be held at Sharon Memorial Park, 40 Dedham Street, Sharon, on Tuesday, June 4, at 2:45 PM. Those attending services should meet behind the administration building on the cemetery grounds prior to services.
In lieu of flowers, remembrances may be made in Diane’s memory to the American Cancer Society, 3 Speen Street, Framingham, MA 01701, www.cancer.org.
