Bernice Housman of O’Fallon, MO, formerly of Cape Cod, MA, passed away on March 27, 2022, at the age of 98.
Devoted daughter of Samuel & Annabelle Goldstein. Beloved wife of the late Louis J. Housman for 71 years before his passing in 2015. Loving mother of Nancy Hunnewell and her husband David of Newport Beach, CA, Jeffrey Housman of Wentzville, MO, and Donald Housman of Rockaway, NJ. She also leaves 6 cherished grandchildren and was blessed with 11 great-grandchildren ranging in age from 3 weeks to 26 years.
She and her husband Lew settled in Sharon, then retired to Bourne, MA, and West Palm Beach, FL. before moving to O’Fallon, MO, following her husband’s passing.
In addition to raising her family, Bernice worked as a bookkeeper for many years. She was a volunteer in several organizations and for many, she assumed leadership roles. She was known for her public speaking skills and at a young 80 years of age, she conducted current events classes for retirees at the Bourne Senior Center.
Her life was characterized by her love of family, her exemplary marriage, and her affection for her beloved dogs.
She will be sorely missed by all who knew and loved her.
Service will be held at Schlossberg Family’s Chapel on the Hill, 824 Washington St., Canton, on Monday, April 4, 2022, at 10:00 AM. Interment to follow at Sharon Memorial Park immediately after.
