Rose “Rochel” S. (Siegel) Wasserman, 90, passed away peacefully on June 12, 2023 after a brief illness. She was the beloved wife of the late Ronald Wasserman. She leaves behind her devoted children, Barry K. Wasserman, and Jeffrey M. Wasserman and his wife Debra.
She was born in 1933 to the late Abraham and Rebecca Siegel and was raised in Taunton. After high school, she attended Boston University, graduating in 1953. She met Ronnie in 1954 and they were married in 1955. She raised her cherished sons in Brockton. Rose was a devoted daughter, mother, wife, cousin, and friend. Rose enjoyed learning, and she especially liked attending “lunch and learn” Torah study at Temple Israel in Sharon. Rose loved being with her family including all of her cousins with whom she had very close relationships.
The funeral will be held at Schlossberg Family’s Chapel on the Hill, 824 Washington Street, Canton on Thursday, June 15th at 10:30AM. Interment will immediately follow at Beth-El Cemetery, 776 Baker Street, West Roxbury. Shiva will be held at the home of Rose Wasserman immediately following the burial until 8PM and continuing Friday from 3-7PM. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Rose’s memory to a charity of your choice.

Rose’s spirit of lifelong learning will linger long with those of us privileged to discuss books with her. We send our condolences to all of Rose’s family and friends, and especially to Barry for helping Rose to attend our meetings over Zoom during the pandemic, and in person — long before we heard of Zoom.
