Sylvia (Marder) Hertzel passed away on May 14, 2020 at the Brudnick Center for Living in Peabody, MA from complications due to the Covid 19 virus. She was 100 years old. Sylvia was a first generation American, daughter of Louis and Rebecca Marder. She was predeceased by them, her loving husband Ralph, and her sister Ann Marder. She leaves her daughter, Pam Krinsky and her family Bob and Scott and Scott’s fiancée Sarah Hodin. She also leaves her son Bob Hertzel, his partner Joni Kutok and his daughter Meredith, all from Connecticut and her grandson Greg of Massachusetts. She grew up during the depression, was a wartime bride and wife, and raised her children in Sharon, MA where she lived until two years ago. We are most grateful to the Brudnick Center for their excellent care and support. Although we were unable to be with her during her final days because of the virus, we were able to video chat with her until last week and knew she had a strong heart until the end.
