Simeon (Simmy) was born on October 28, 1927, in Boston, Massachusetts to Morris and Lena Korisky. He grew up in Dorchester before settling in Randolph and then Stoughton.
He was husband to the late E. Glenda (Goldberg), father to Elizabeth D. Heiss (Mark) of CT, Cynthia Korisky (Michael Butler) of MA and the late Michael Korisky (Cindy Charlton) of CO. Zadie to Matthew Heiss (Shannon Grote) of CT, Wesley and Colin Korisky of CO and great-grandfather to Linus and Alden Grote Heiss of CT.
Simmy was a founding member of Congregation Young Israel of Randolph and was a life-long active synagogue member of that congregation and others.
Simmy served in the US Army from May 1945 until April 1947, spending some time in the postwar cleanup effort in Japan.
Simmy retired from The Harvard Coop, having managed and been a buyer for their photography department. Previously, he had worked for John Allen and other camera stores and enjoyed taking pictures both for pleasure and professionally. For a time, he had a darkroom at home where he could process his own photos.
He was also an active town meeting member for several years while he lived in Randolph.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM on Wednesday, July 15, 2026 at Boylston Lodge Cemetery, 776 Baker Street, West Roxbury, MA.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorial contributions be made to the American Red Cross, 180 Rustcraft Rd., Dedham, MA 02026, redcross.org — honoring Simmy’s long history of blood donations with this group, or your preferred temple/synagogue.
