Date of Funeral

May 20, 2026

We are deeply saddened to announce the passing of Shirley Soltz, a beloved mother, sister, aunt, and friend, who peacefully departed this world on May 15, 2026, at the venerable age of 94.

Born on October 11, 1931, in Boston, MA, Shirley was a beacon of love and resilience, whose life was a testament to the power of family and the strength of the human spirit. Shirley was the cherished daughter of Robert and Betty Stopnik, who instilled in her the values of kindness and devotion that she carried throughout her life.

She was predeceased by her dear parents and her beloved husband, Irving Soltz, whose memory she held close to her heart every day. Although their marriage was tragically cut short when Shirley was just 34, her love for Irving was boundless and enduring. With his passing, Shirley dedicated her life to her family, providing unwavering support and love to her sons, Kenneth and Steven, who were her pride and joy.

Shirley’s life was a tapestry woven with love, laughter, and an unyielding commitment to her family. Her sister, Rosalyn, and nieces and nephew, Roberta, Andrea, and David, were fortunate to share in her warmth and generosity. Shirley’s family was her world, and she cherished every moment spent with them, celebrating their triumphs and comforting them in times of need.

Even in her later years, Shirley continued to embody grace and compassion, qualities that endeared her to all who knew her. She spent her final days at the Hebrew Rehabilitation Center in Roslindale, MA, where she was surrounded by caregivers who appreciated her gentle spirit and kind heart.

The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to these caregivers for providing Shirley with comfort and dignity in her final days.

A service to honor Shirley’s remarkable life will be held on May 20, 2026, where family and friends will gather to celebrate the legacy of a truly extraordinary woman.

Though she leaves behind no great-grandchildren, her legacy lives on in the hearts of her family and all those who were touched by her kindness. In this time of sorrow, we find solace in the memories of Shirley’s laughter, her nurturing presence, and her unwavering love. She will be dearly missed, but her spirit will forever remain a guiding light for those she leaves behind.

The family and friends of Shirley Soltz extend their deepest appreciation to all who have offered their condolences and support during this difficult time. Shirley’s life was a blessing, and she will be fondly remembered and dearly missed by all who were fortunate enough to know her.
