SELMA (ELLERIN) PARKER  Selma Parker, of Sharon, MA passed away peacefully, Monday, August 14 at the age of 92. Beloved wife of the late Allen Parker. Cherished mother of Janice Parker of Milford, MA and Sandy Weiss of Foxboro, MA, and the late Barry Parker. Adored grandmother of Andrew Weiss of Washington, DC and Eric Weiss of Pittsburgh, PA. Loving aunt to many nieces and nephews.

Preceded in death by her parents Sara and Jacob Ellerin, and her siblings,Beatrice, Myer, Francis and Saul.

Selma led her life with “a song in her heart”. She had a beautiful voice and the sound of her singing permeated the air since she was a young child. Her love for Broadway tunes and music in general became instilled in her children and will live on for generations

Selma grew up in Chelsea, MA before moving to Sharon.  She worked hard for many years as a typist before retiring. She loved dogs, knitting, wearing anything with “bling” and had a particular affection for chocolate and sweets of any kind.

The family would like to thank the staff at the Thomas Upham House in Medfield, MA for the  comfort and care they provided Selma in her final few months

Graveside funeral service will be held at Sharon Memorial Park, 40 Dedham Street, Sharon on Thursday, August 24 at 10:45 am. Following the burial, Shiva will be observed at the home of Sandy Weiss through 7 pm.

    We are so sorry for your loss. Your Mother was a pleasure to get to know – a cherished piece of history where her hands and fingers told her legacy – hard work and the enjoyment of her knitting.
