Sandra (Sandy) Lynn Mazer, 77, of Hales Location, North Conway, NH, passed away peacefully on August 2, 2025, surrounded by her family. She was born on February 25, 1948, in Appleton, Wisconsin, to the late Norman Simpson.
Sandy’s early years were spent on a dairy farm in Appleton before she moved to the San Fernando Valley in Los Angeles. There, she spent her youth enjoying the beach, playing sports like softball and tennis, and loved the vibrant car culture of the 1960s, especially along Van Nuys Boulevard—where she went on her first date with the love of her life.
On February 10, 1968, Sandy married Richard Marshall Mazer, and together, they built a life filled with love, adventure, and unwavering support for each other. Their 57 years of marriage were a testament to their deep bond and shared joy. Sandy was a devoted wife and mother to her daughter, Charna Mazer Cummings, and son-in-law, Christopher M. Cummings. She was especially proud of her two grandsons, Liam and Nolan Cummings, with whom she formed an unbreakable bond. Living close by allowed her to be an active presence in their lives, cheering them on in their sports and academic endeavors.
Known for her strong will and generous spirit, Sandy made a lasting impact on those around her. A passionate golfer, she spent countless hours on the course with her husband and friends. She was instrumental in founding the homeowners’ women’s golf league at Hales Location, where she not only brought together fellow golfers but also created lasting memories that would span years. Sandy also had a love for learning, and together with Richard, she explored the United States in their RV, embracing new adventures and experiences along the way.
Sandy was predeceased by her father, Norman Simpson, and is survived by her loving husband, Richard Marshall Mazer; her daughter, Charna Mazer Cummings; son-in-law, Christopher M. Cummings; grandsons, Liam and Nolan Cummings; as well as numerous extended family members and friends who will forever cherish her memory.
Sandy’s legacy of love, kindness, and joy will continue to live on in the hearts of those who were fortunate to know her. She will be deeply missed but never forgotten.
Graveside Services will be privately held at Sharon Memorial Park.
