Rose H. Young of  Brockton, formerly of Stoughton, passed away peacefully on March 18, 2023 at 104 years of age. Devoted daughter of the late Joseph & Annie (Wolf) Markowsky. Beloved wife of the late Irving Young. Loving mother of Barbara Ashman and her husband Stanley of Brockton, Nancy Knochin and her husband Harold of Canton and Alan Young and his wife Marci of Florida. Cherished grandmother of Harvey, Eric, Andrew, Michael, Jessica, Julie, Ryan, Adam and Shannon.  Loving Great Grandmother to Jacob, William, David, Elizabeth and Benjamin. Dear sister of the late Oscar, Sanders, Peter, Morse, Nathan, William, Fannie, Goldie, Alice, Minnie and Louise.

Rose grew up in the West End with her 11 brothers and sisters. In 1938, she married Irving (Casey), and raised her three wonderful children in Dorchester. She moved to Stoughton and spent her time playing Bagel, Mahjong, Bingo, and enjoying her time by the pool or beach. She was known for always dressing to style and ensuring that she was the best dressed in any room. She moved to Heights Crossing and knitted all her children and grandchildren with warm afghans that will ensure her memory stays with them forever.

Rose’s funeral service will be held at 1:30PM, Tuesday, March 21st, 2023, at Schlossberg Family’s Chapel on the Hill, 824 Washington Street in Canton, with the interment to follow at David Vicur Cholim Cemetery, 776 Baker Street, West Roxbury. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in Rose’s memory to the charity of your choice.

    Nancy, Barbara and Family, We are deeply sorry for the loss of your beloved Mother Rose. She was always such a sweet, loving women and you were blessed to have had her for so long! I am so sorry I cannot attend the funeral in person, I am home sick with the flu. I will, however, watch the live stream and hope to make it to the Shiva.
