Ronald Friedman July 29, 2025

Date of Funeral

August 1, 2025

Ronald Friedman, 79, of Mohegan Lake, NY and Delray Beach, FL passed away peacefully after a long illness with family by his side on July 29, 2025. Ron was born on November 30, 1945 in New York City. He graduated from Queens College followed by the University of Pennsylvania School of Dental Medicine. While in dental school, he married the love of his life, Doris Becker. They had been married two weeks shy of fifty-six years at the time of his passing.

Ron and Doris moved to Westchester, NY, where Ron started his own dental practice. He truly loved his profession and especially enjoyed building lasting relationships with his patients and the community.  Shortly after opening his practice, he fulfilled his dream of starting a family.

Ron was a terrific dentist, husband, and father. Even though he worked hard, Ron always made time for his children. He never missed a single event, whether he was coaching, loudly cheering from the sidelines, or helping with homework or a project. He was a very generous man, a great teacher with a very big heart, and would do anything for others, especially his family.

Ron was an avid NY sports fan and enjoyed taking his family to numerous Yankees and Knicks games. He also loved to travel, play cards, and spend time with friends. He was a jokester, even in his last few weeks of life. He loved spending time with his four grandchildren. His family was most important to him. He was very loved and will be dearly missed by all who knew him.

Ron is survived by his wife Doris, his son Michael Friedman (wife Kate) of Southbury CT, his daughter Dawn Schmier (husband Aaron) of Wrentham, MA, and his grandchildren: Alyssa, Jacob, Abigail, and Rebecca.  He was predeceased by his father Leo Friedman, his mother Ruth Friedman, and his sister Eileen Steinhart.

A graveside service will be held on Friday, August 1st at 12:45 PM at Sharon Memorial Park, 40 Dedham Street, Sharon, MA 02067.
