Robert (Bob) Lloyd Coval formerly of Swampscott, Sharon and South Yarmouth, unexpectedly passed away at the age of 67 on February 14, 2022.
Bob was the eldest son of Helaine Coval (Cohen) and Donald Coval. Departed Grandparents Max and Rose Coval and Dr. Julius and “Peggy” Tye Cohen. He graduated from Swampscott High School in 1973 and continued his matriculation at Syracuse University. He received his Bachelor’s degree in business and then went on to earn his CPA. He was a member of Tau Epsilon Phi fraternity. He was also a member of the Moses Michael Hayes Masonic Lodge and Aleppo Temple.
Robert is survived by his children, Douglas Coval (Jaime) of Easton, MA, Tracy Coval of Stoughton, MA and his grandson Ethan Coval of Easton, MA. His sister Sherrie Coval-Goldsmith of York, Maine.
Bob had several great passions in life, including: spending time with his family, attending Patriots games with his children, and spending time at his beloved Cape home. Bob was a devoted father and grandfather. He could not be prouder of his children’s accomplishments. The day his son, Doug, received his CPA and joined Bob’s firm made his smile light up the room. Watching his daughter, Tracy, graduate from college, become an advocate for people with disabilities and a published author made him a proud father. He knew he had guided his children well. He loved spending time with his grandson, and gave him the opportunity to groom another Patriots fan. He left us too soon and will be greatly missed.
A private graveside funeral is planned on February 21, 2022 at 10 am at the Beth Jacobs Cemetery #2, D Street. Woburn, MA.
Shiva will be held both Monday, February 21, 2022 and Tuesday, February 22, 2022 between 3-5pm and 6-8pm.
The address is 300 Cushing Street, Stoughton, MA 02072.
In lieu of flowers, we are asking for donations to be made to the American Heart Association.

February 19, 2022 at 4:39 amI knew Bobby and his sister Sherrie from when we were in elementary school and we went to Robin Hood Day Camp in North Reading, MA. I later marched in the Swampscott High School Marching Band with him for six years where he played saxophone, and we were also in concert band. He was confirmed with me at Temple Emmanuel in Marblehead. I miss him already.

February 21, 2022 at 9:23 pmYour Dad was such a kind man. He was always there to help sort us out, no matter what craziness we threw his way; and there was a lot of craziness! We’ll alway be grateful for his guidance, his reassuring way & his patience. May his memory be a blessing.

February 21, 2022 at 2:24 pmBreaks my heart that Bob has left us. I know that he will rest in peace because, in life, he was always at peace. No matter what happened he was always calm and was able to make those around him feel the same. I am not Jewish but I can recognize a real mensch when I see one. Bob was a mensch.

February 21, 2022 at 4:55 pmI first met Bob when we shared offices in Norwood in 2001. It makes me sad thinking I won’t hear his wise cracker answers and laughter anymore. I enjoyed collaborating with him on our clients. I will truly miss him and it reminds us that everyday is a gift.

February 21, 2022 at 7:34 pmTracy & Doug,
You are both in my thoughts and prayers with the sudden passing of your dad.
I always remember your father as a mentor to me and a true gentleman, but more importantly a good friend.
Your father was that unique person who you could always call on, no matter the time or day. He would always take time to listen and if asked to offer his humble advice to any issues at hand.
Reflecting back, I remember when we would meet him greeting me so many times with his big smile, asking how my day was going and how was I doing.
Bobby C., (as I would call him), had a unique outgoing personality that would always, at least momentarily, take away my immediate concerns and allow me to appreciate life’s moments.
Your dad was a special man and good friend. I will truly miss him as will so many others whose lives he impacted.
I hope you both can find solace in his memory and the many lives he had such a positive effect on.
