Phyllis Ruback, 78, of Walpole, MA, passed away peacefully on November 12, 2025, at her home surrounded by friends and family. She was born on December 24, 1946, in Dorchester, MA.
Phyllis is survived by her husband, Bruce Novick; her children, Adam Ruback and Sarah (Ruback) and John Hentschel; her stepchildren, Evan and Amy Novick, Erica and Joe MacDonald, and Brett and Angie Novick; her grandchild, Carter Ruback; her step-grandchildren, Dylan, Emma, Jordan, Daniel, and Owen; her brother, Harold Blotcher and his wife, Norma; and her sister, Cheryl Fix and her husband, Joe.
Phyllis was preceded in death by her first husband, Steven W. Ruback, and her parents, Louis and Jeannette Blotcher.
Phyllis was a longtime teacher at Solomon Schechter Day School before retiring and spending her time at the gym, shopping, and dining with friends. She volunteered at Hebrew Rehabilitation Center and Rosie’s Place. Phyllis loved reading and traveling and was known for her boundless energy and kindness to all who knew her.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, November 17, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. at Ahavath Torah Congregation, 1179 Central Street, Stoughton, MA, followed by burial at Sharon Memorial Park, 40 Dedham Street, Sharon, MA 02067.
Shiva will be held on Monday, November 17, 2025 after the funeral services until 6:30 p.m. and Tuesday, November 18, 2025, from 2:00 to 6:30 p.m. at the home of Bruce and Phyllis.
