Nathan Fink, 93, Devoted Family Man and Beloved Friend, Passes Away

Nathan Fink, a kind, generous, and quietly charismatic man whose life centered around family, passed away at the age of 93. He is survived by his beloved wife, Lois, son Barry and Ava, daughter Ronni and husband Dave, and son Rob and significant other Denise.  He is also survived by grandchildren Jessica and fiancé Sam, Jonathan and wife Nora, and Daniel.

Nate was born on August 15, 1931 at Newark Beth Israel Hospital to parents Anna and Charles. Nate grew up in Hillside, New Jersey. He went on to earn a business degree from Rutgers University in 1953 and proudly served in the U.S. Army following graduation.

In December 1951, Nate met the love of his life, Lois Levine, and the two were married on July 11, 1954. Together, they raised three children—Barry, Ronni, and Robert—and built a warm and loving home in Springfield, New Jersey. Nathan joined the family business, Fink’s Furniture, in 1955. He was known for his meticulous work ethic, strong values, and quiet determination.

Nate cherished life’s simple pleasures: summer vacations at the Jersey Shore, teaching his children to ride a bike and swim, watching the NY Yankees games, and enjoying a glass of wine by the ocean. He was deeply artistic—crafting handmade Halloween costumes and drawings—and loved to travel with Lois and close friends. He brought joy and creativity into his children’s lives and later delighted in the company of his grandchildren whom he shared mutual adoration.

Nate was a true gentleman and a role model in every sense. He approached life with quiet strength, humor, and generosity, always prioritizing his loved ones. Above all, his greatest joy was his family, whom he treasured more than anything. He will be profoundly missed by his family and the many lifelong friends who were lucky enough to know him.

A funeral service will be held at the Schlossberg Family’s Chapel on the Hill, 824 Washington St., Canton, MA on Sunday, July 20 at 1:00PM. Burial will follow at the Sharon Memorial Park, immediately after.
