Matilda “Teddy” Papp, age 100, died in her home in Weymouth on November 6th, 2020. She was born December 1919 to Jacob and Rebecca (nee Vigdor) Gurta, and sister to Norman Gurta. Teddy worked as a receptionist for a women’s hospital in Boston for before marrying Maurice Papp in 1951. They bought a house that same year, the one she died in. Teddy was widowed in 1973. Before then, she and Maurice raised Richard and Joan Papp. Both have since passed away. In 1980 Teddy became Nana to Michael Papp, and again to Joseph Papp in 1984.
Teddy enjoyed bowling in leagues with her daughter and eating out regularly. Traveling to visit family and friends were also frequent pleasures. Her secret passions were romance novels and murder mysteries.
