Larry Strumpf March 27, 2026

Date of Funeral

March 29, 2026

Lawrence Strumpf, a longtime Brockton resident, passed away on March 27, 2026, at the age of 85. He was the beloved husband of Beverly Ann (Zinn) Strumpf, devoted father of Milton Strumpf and Matthew Strumpf and his wife Andrea (Bergman), and treasured grandfather to his special grandsons Jonathan Strumpf Spada and William Amensden. He was also the cherished brother of Minna Claire Wolfson and her husband Phil.

Larry was born in New York City to I. Milton and Selda Strumpf of blessed memory. His career fixing mainframe computers began after he graduated from RCA Institute in N.Y. Eventually working for Unisys for over 36 years. He was always the go to person when no one else could figure out why the computer was not working, getting calls sometimes in the middle of the night. Nothing pleased him more than sitting cross legged on the floor, at the back of the computer with all the wires pulled out, trying to piece together what went wrong. When personal computers started to come in, he retired because the challenges were gone.

His favorite hobbies were photography and model trains. He was a proud member of the South Shore Model Railroad Club in Hingham. He also was the unofficial picture taker at many special events at Temple Beth Emunah. He always called himself a picture taker not a photographer, but some of his beautiful, professional looking shots adorn the FL condo.

Larry became very active in the TBE Brotherhood, serving as treasurer for many years. He was also known as the “voice” of the Brotherhood Train Show making his announcements frequently  throughout the day. During the High Holy Days Larry served as head usher making sure things ran smoothly both outside and inside the Sanctuary. Eventually he took on the roll of House Committee Chairman, keeping a close eye on the energy efficiency of all the light bulbs in the building.

Larry and his wife, Beverly celebrated 60 years of marriage in October 2025. He was a kind, gentle, sweet, loving man, and will be missed by all of his family and friends.

His funeral service will be held at 1PM, Sunday, March 29, 2026 at Schlossberg Family’s Chapel on the Hill, 824 Washington Street in Canton with the interment to follow at Pride of Brockton, 197 South Street, Stoughton, MA.

Memorial Observance will be held at the home of Beverly Strumpf immediately following the burial and continuing on Monday, 1-4PM and 6-8:30PM.

Expressions of sympathy in Larry’s memory may be donated to the Parkinson’s Foundation ~ Attention NE Chapter, 5757 Waterford District Drive, Suite 310, Miami, FL 33126. www.parkinson.org/newengland.
