Joseph Valof of Westborough, MA, formally of Natick, MA entered into rest on January 30, 2026, at the age of 94. Joe was born on December 6, 1931 in Peabody, MA to the late Louis and Frieda (Hurvitz) Valdofsky.

Joe is survived by his wife Anita (Sallus) with whom he shared 65 wonderful years. He was a loving father and grandfather to Susan Litvin and her husband Gerry of Franklin, MA, Jason Valof and grandson Kyle Valof of Medway, MA. He was preceded in death by his sisters Shirley Olick and Bess Valdofsky.

Joe was academically and professionally driven. He earned a BS in Business and an MBA from Northeastern University. While there he joined NU’s Army ROTC program and went on to serve in Germany and attained the rank of Captain. He also joined the KZP Fraternity where he made lifelong friends who continued to gather for monthly poker night for over 50 years.

He went on to earn a JD Degree from New England Law/Boston and had a long and successful career as an In-House Corporate Counsel. He was co-founder of the Association of Independent General Counsel, member of the New England Corporate Counsel Association, served as Secretary and contributing member to the Commission on Software Issues in the 80’s and was a Mediator in the Framingham Court. He also taught Business Law at Newbury, Mount Ida and Dean Colleges and was the author of several published legal/business articles.

In addition to his work, Joe loved sports and bowled in leagues and played tennis and golf. He also enjoyed his winters in Florida.

Funeral services will be held at Schlossberg Family’s Chapel on the Hill, 824 Washington St., Canton, MA on Thursday, February 5, 2026 at noon. Interment to follow at Sharon Memorial Park.

Shiva will be observed at the home of Anita Valof on Thursday, February 5th 7-9PM, Friday, February 6th 2-5PM and continuing Saturday, February 7th 7-9PM.

In lieu of flowers, donation in Joe’s memory can be made to The National Kidney Foundation (https://www.kidney.org) or the charitable organization of your choice.
