Joseph D. Donahue November 28, 1944 - January 5, 2026

Date of Funeral

January 11, 2026

Joseph “Joe” Donahue (B. 11/28/1944 D. 1/5/2026)

Joe met the love of his life, Eloise, while they were both working at New England Telephone. Together they welcomed their only daughter, Courtney, who remained the center of his world.

Joe found joy in the simple things: tending to his yard with quiet pride, relaxing on cruises, and soaking up the sun on trips to Maui. He had a wonderfully dry, sarcastic sense of humor and a calm, easygoing nature that made him someone everyone could get along with.

A true animal lover, Joe adored his dog, Lexi, and happily embraced the chaos and affection of his grandpups, Murphy and Maizy. Most recently, he took great pleasure in building a new bond with his future son‑in‑law, Greg – a relationship that meant a great deal to him.

Joe was loved deeply by his family and cherished by his friends. He proudly served his country in the National Guard, carrying that sense of duty and steadiness throughout his life.

He was survived by his beloved wife, Eloise Donahue (née Jacobs); his adoring daughter, Courtney; and his brothers Richard and Brian.

Predeceased by his loving parents, Joseph Donahue Sr. and Elizabeth Harrington, and his brothers Stephen, David, and Daniel.

Services will be held at Schlossberg Family’s Chapel on the Hill, 824 Washington Street, Canton, MA Sunday, January 11 with visiting hours from 11:30am–1:00pm, followed by a short chapel service and graveside ceremony.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Animal Protection Center of Southeastern Massachusetts, reflecting Joe’s lifelong love of animals.
