Jean (“Jeannie”) Ruth Albert, 87, passed away peacefully on November 24, 2025, surrounded by her loving family. Born on July 3, 1938, in Boston, she was the daughter of Mark and Rose Poretsky of West Roxbury. She married the love of her life, Charlie Albert, in April 1961, and together they built a life filled with deep love, family and enduring friendship.

Throughout her life, Jean was fiercely dedicated to the people she cared for. She will be remembered for her unwavering support and lifelong devotion to family and friends / relationships she nurtured, maintained, and deepened over many decades.

Her philanthropy, commitment to American Jewry, and passion for civic engagement were cornerstones of her identity. She was never shy about writing letters to high-ranking officials to voice her concerns and advocate for what she believed in.

Jean was known for her kindness, warmth, loyalty, and sharp intellect. She had a love of the stock market and a talent for making savvy investments. She filled her days caring lovingly for Charlie and enjoying Mahjong, Bridge, and Canasta with her cherished friends.

She leaves behind her beloved husband, Charlie Albert; children Audrey Albert King (and her husband, Jeffrey King) and Daniel Albert (and his wife, Patty Albert); and her grandchildren Rachael King (and her husband, Kevin Ruhl), Annie King (and her husband, Scott Rabinovitz), Joshua Albert, and Sara Albert. She was preceded in death by her sister, Thelma Blonder.

A celebration of Jean’s life will take place November 26, 2025, at Schlossberg Family’s Chapel on the Hill, 824 Washington St., Canton at 10:30AM, followed by interment at Atereth Israel Cemetery, 776 Baker St., West Roxbury.

The family will sit shiva at Care-One in Sharon on Nov. 26th from 4-7PM, welcoming all who wish to share memories and offer their condolences.

The family extends heartfelt gratitude to CareOne of Sharon, Ascend Hospice, and the devoted staff of Sudbury River Home Care for their compassionate care and support.
