Our family mourns the passing of our beloved mother and grandmother, Gloria Gurevich, who passed away peacefully on August 9, 2026, at the age of 102.
Gloria was the beloved wife of the late Herbert Gurevich. She is survived by her son, Larry Gurevich, and his wife, Maryann, of Bourne; her daughter, Sandy White and late husband Tommie of Weymouth; granddaughter Rachel Gurevich of Boston and extended family.
Gloria lived a remarkable and fulfilling life. At the age of 18, she joined the Navy as a nurse cadet. She trained at Beth Israel Hospital, where she earned her registered nursing license, and went on to work at several hospitals throughout the Greater Boston area.
Gloria and Herbert made their home in Sharon, where they shared many happy years together until his passing. She later settled in an assisted living community in Braintree, where she continued to enjoy the love and companionship of family and friends.
Gloria was a wonderful mother who was known for her great sense of humor, warmth, and, above all, her deep love for her family. She will be remembered for the joy she brought to those around her and for the many memories she created throughout her long and meaningful life.
A small graveside service was held at Sharon Memorial Park on Tuesday, August 11, with Rabbi Navah Levine officiating.
In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy in Gloria’s memory may be made to a charitable organization of one’s choice.
