On Thursday, April 16, 2020, Gary C Winston, of Plymouth MA, peacefully passed away in the comfort of his home, after enduring a courageous battle with cancer, at the age of 76. Devoted Son of the late Everett and Annie (Henrietta)Winston. Gary is survived by his loving wife, Paula (Edelstein) Winston of 53 years. His son Todd, daughter-in-law Barbra,, daughter Rachel (Winston ) Berndlmaier, son-in- law Drew, and his grandchildren, Nathan & Shai Berndlmaier, along with his sister-in-law, Janet Sturman and brother-in-law, Paul Sturman, many nieces and nephews. Gary was a graduate of English High School, Boston. He was a man of many talents and very mechanically inclined. He used these talents opening a custom frame and art supply retail store with his brother-in-law. He also owned and operated Winston Home Repairs. Gary often said his most rewarding years was working at the Pappas Rehabilitation Hospital for Children (formally Mass Hospital School) in the Rehab Engineering Department. After retirement, he and his wife moved to Plymouth where he would sit on his deck, watching the birds nesting in the birdhouses he built, and befriending the humming birds. He also enjoyed leisurely walking the Cape Cod Canal, and having a cocktail by the ocean. He enjoyed watching his home teams the NE Patriots and the Boston Red Sox, classic cars, classic movies and the newest gadgets. . He took great joy and pride in spending time with his grandchildren. Papa will forever be in their hearts. Being an avid music lover of all genres, especially jazz, Gary could quickly sing out a song suited for any circumstance, bringing levity to the situation. A man who loved to make people laugh, he will always be known by his family and friends for his quick wit, his jokes, great smile, and his kind and compassionate spirit. “GONE FROM OUR SIGHT BUT NEVER FROM OUR HEARTS” Arrangements by: Schlossberg Family’s Chapel on the Hill, Canton, MA 02021 Due to the COVID 19, memorial will be private.
