EUGENE “Gene” AVRUS of Randolph passed away on Friday, January 23rd,
from complications resulting from several strokes.

Gene was born in the Bronx, one of the five Burroughs that make up New York City, the son of the late Daniel and Dorothy (Spillert) Avrus. After high school, he attended a community college in New York and later relocated to Massachusetts. Gene earned his bachelor’s degree from Bentley University and enjoyed a 20 year career at Franklin Sports in Stoughton, MA.

Gene was the loving father of David Avrus and is survived by his former wife,
Jodi (Rome) Avrus along with his extended family of cousins and friends.
His brain was donated to Massachusetts General Hospital for advances in the diagnosis and treatment of brain related illnesses.

A Memorial service will be held at Schlossberg Family’s Chapel on the Hill,
824 Washington Street, Canton, MA on Sunday, February 1st at 2:PM.
Immediately following the service, Memorial observance will be held at
B’nai Tikvah Congregation, 1301 Washington Street, Canton.
