Erwin Stacey July 22, 2021

Date of Funeral

July 26, 2021

Just shy of 92 good years lived, Erwin Stacey of Quincy, passed away peacefully while surrounded by his family. A proud family man, Erwin was married 61 years to the love of his life, Edna, who had predeceased him. She kept his dance card full with family camping trips around New England, cruises, square dancing … just to name a few!

A devoted father, Erwin is survived by his son Tom and his wife Sally of Johnston, RI, daughter Linda Saggese and her husband Peter of Beverly, MA and daughter Deb Molino and her husband Frank of Leland, NC. Cherished grandfather of Sarah, Josh, Stacey, Dave and Andrew. Loved by many great grandchildren for whom he always enjoyed buying little gifts! We’re sure the Dollar stores will miss him!

Erwin leaves behind his dear friend, Barbara Dwyer of Quincy.

Erwin was the loving son of Bessie and Frank Stacey, and baby brother to the late Roz Litwack and Shirley Chastain.

Erwin was a U S Naval Reservist for twenty years and his family always enjoyed the treats and stories from his annual two week tours around the world.

Erwin owned and operated Stacey & Vassallo Fruit Company, started by his father in the Faneuil Hall Marketplace. He spent his retirement years in Florida and in South Carolina where he volunteered at the local hospital. He and Edna were beloved members of the KKBE Synagogue in Charleston, SC.

Erwin will be remembered as a man who was quick with a smile, always ready with a joke and a world class whistler! His big personality and his enormous heart was cherished by all who knew him. He leaves a big hole in our lives but our hearts full from the love he gave to those he loved most.

Services will be held on Monday, July 26th at 1 PM at Schlossberg Memorial Chapel on the Hill, 824 Washington Street, Canton. Burial to follow at Sharon Memorial Park, 120 Canton Street, Sharon. In lieu of Shiva observance, a celebration of Erwin will follow at Gourmet Garden, 95 Washington Street, Canton. For those of you who knew Erwin, he would be very pleased with our food choice!

Dennis and I were devastated to hear of your dad’s passing … Erwin was a good man.. We here at Brookdale all loved him. . He did love giving out pieces of candy and always telling a good joke . I was always receiving e-mails with funny jokes from Erwin….💕
Whenever he spoke of your mother he would always get chocked up . He missed her something awful. He and Edna are together now with the angels. May he and Edna rest and now be at peace .
So glad we got to meet Erwin and believe me when I say Erwin will be missed by so many. God bless you Erwin and may you Rest In Peace.
