Elaine Barbara Lyons, 82, beloved wife of Joseph T. Lyons, Jr., died at her home in Danbury, on Wednesday, July 12, 2023. She was born in Boston, MA on April 21, 1941, daughter of the late Stanley G. and Myrel (Bern) Simmons.
Elaine was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. Her happiest moments were spent with her family.
In addition to her cherished husband of 60 years, Joseph, she will be dearly missed by her three children: Michele Lyons (Bob Riley), Stephanie Lyons-Keeley (Wayne), Robert Lyons (Brenda Mac); her ten grandchildren: Jessica Carter (Ryan), Amanda Lyons, Jacob Anderson, Samuel Anderson (Brook), Joshua Acuff, Jonah Acuff, Kylie Keeley, Chayce Schultz, Aidan Schultz, and Brady Schultz. Elaine was excited about the upcoming marriage of Samuel and Brook and looking forward to attending.
Elaine was predeceased by her brother Stuart B. Simmons.
The family will receive family and friends on Saturday, July 15 from 2:00 – 4:00 p.m. at the Cornell Memorial Home, 247 White St., Danbury. You are invited to the Lyons family home, 15 Eastwood Road, Danbury for refreshments and to share memories of Elaine.
A graveside service, under the direction of Schlossberg Family’s Chapel on the Hill, will take place at Sharon Memorial Park, 40 Dedham St., Sharon, MA on Sunday, July 16th at 1:45 p.m. Please meet behind the administration building.
