Donald J. Orkin passed away on Tuesday, April 16,2024. He lived 87 full and meaningful years, over 56 of them with his beloved wife, Dolores, of blessed memory. Donald, son of Harry and Lillian Orkin of blessed memory, was born in Dorchester, and lived most of his adult life with Dolores in Sharon, raising their three children, Jeffrey (Debbie) Orkin, Lisa Orkin – Passloff, and Laura (Steve) Singmon. Donald and Dolores enjoyed many years together in Cape Cod, living in Brewster and Mashpee. Donald was a hardworking, serious-minded person, who enjoyed helping others. He was a loving husband, father, brother and proud grandfather of Eliezer Moshe, MenachemMendel, Amichai Dovid, Elchonon Yisroel, Bassheva Rochel Orkin, and Stefi Rose and Eva Trudy Passloff. He leaves behind his dear siblings, Leo & his wife, Sharon Orkin and Ellen & her husband Jeff Fredberg. A Brandeis University and Boston College law school graduate, Donald was a successful lawyer for well over fifty years. He volunteered for Jewish Big Brother and was a long time member of both Temple Israel in Sharon and Shaloh House in Stoughton. He was the unofficial real estate attorney for Chabad congregations in the South Shore. Contributions in his memory can be made to the charity of your choice. Donald will be greatly missed.
