Arlene Sandra (Klebanow) Carter 10/22/39-2/3/24After 84 years of a well-lived life,
Arlene died peacefully with her family by her side. She leaves many good memories with so many who will miss her, but none more than the family she leaves behind. She leaves her daughter, Deborah (Carter) Ahearn and her husband, Gregory, her son, Howard Carter, his wife, Laine and the most important people in her life, her grandchildren Maxwell and Amaya. She has joined her late husband, Ronald and son, Barry as well as her parents, Benjamin Klebanow and Dora (Morris). She also leaves behind a wide circle of family and friends.
Arlene went to Jeremiah E. Burke High School and Northeastern University before starting her career as an accountant. She especially enjoyed being around the busy communities of Camp Academy/West Woods and the Canton Police Station from which she retired in 2002. Since then, she has been so busy that she, “had no idea how I had time to work.” From her time in the pool at the YMCA to Mexican Train Dominoes, book club at the library and volunteering at the Taunton nursing home as well as at the Leddy Preschool she enjoyed her retirement. She especially loved entertaining for the holidays and spending time with her grandchildren and her grand-dogs.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend Arlene’s funeral service on Wednesday, February 7, 2024 beginning at 10:30 a.m. in the Schlossberg Chapel, 824 Washington St. Canton, MA followed by a burial at Lord Rosthchild cemetery on Baker St. West Roxbury. Immediately following interment, shiva will be at 24 Bear Paw Trail, East Taunton. Thursday and Friday shiva will be held at the home of Arlene Carter, 47 Buffalo Way, East Taunton, MA In lieu of flowers, and donations in Arlene’s name can be made to the American Heart Association or the charity of your choice.
