Elaine Drobnis of Easton, a long-time resident of Sharon, passed away on February 22, 2023, at the age of 74. Devoted daughter of the late Frank & Blanche (Cohen) Grosberg.
Loving mother of Adam and his wife Vicki Drobnis, Michael Drobnis, David Drobnis, and Jonathan and his wife Amanda Drobnis. Cherished Savta (grandmother) of Jake, Holly, Jaqueline, Rebecca, Kyra, and Ella. Beloved cousin and lifelong friend of Suzie Petkun and family. She was pre-deceased by her brothers and sisters Linda (Malkofsky) Burton, June (Malkofsky) Rubino, Irwin, Mark, Jeff, and John Malkofsky.
Elaine grew up in Mattapan and Dorchester, graduating from the Jeremiah E. Burke High School and continuing at the Hebrew College in Brookline, Massachusetts. She married and raised her four sons in Sharon, MA. She was an active member at Temple Israel, past president of Sisterhood, Hebrew school teacher, and a lifetime member of Hadassah. Elaine had a passion for Judaism, Yiddishkeit, and teaching. She was a lifelong educator and learner. She never stopped learning and, more recently, was studying Yiddish which she grew up speaking with her parents.
In addition to her Hebrew College degree, Elaine returned to school later in life. She obtained a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration while working full-time in Human Resources at Olin College. She loved working with the students.
Elaine was a cherished and devoted friend to many; everyone who met her spoke of her generous and giving personality. You could always find her listening to her favorite, Elvis, and always watching the Boston Red Sox! She was an avid reader and enjoyed creative writing. She always loved her riddles and would ask you a riddle every time you spoke with her. She loved animals and leaves behind Oliver, who is also beloved and very well cared for by a close family friend.
