Ilyana Schlossberg is the youngest of Louis Schlossberg’s six grandchildren and currently serves as Vice President of The Schlossberg Family Chapel.
Though raised in New York City, Ilyana spent every summer on C Street in Nantasket with the one person who loved the beach even more than she did—her Bubbie, Annette Schlossberg. While Louis “Papa” Schlossberg was the face of the Chapel, it was Annette who was, and always will be, its heart. Ilyana carries that legacy forward each day, striving to embody the values her Bubbie instilled in her: honesty, loyalty, and compassion for those most in need.
Years ago, when SCI—a publicly traded funeral conglomerate based in Texas that had already acquired both Stanetsky and Levine—tried to purchase the Schlossberg Chapel, Louis stood firm. He believed, unequivocally, that independence was essential to maintaining the integrity of the profession. Personalized care, he believed, should never be compromised by corporate quotas, commissions, or sales tactics. To him, a funeral was sacred—and the bond between a funeral director and the families they serve must be grounded in trust, not shareholder profit. In his words, a public corporation could never truly put families first.
Now, Ilyana continues that mission. Following in the footsteps of her father, Ken Schlossberg, she is committed to ensuring that the Chapel remains family-owned, independent, and unwavering in its dedication to serving families with compassion and dignity. She is currently enrolled at the American Academy McAllister Institute and is on track to become a fully licensed funeral director.
