Steven Quint, a loving husband, father and partner of Florida, a former long-time resident of Hull, passed away on Monday, March 06, 2023, 83 years of age. Born on January 25, 1940, in New York, he was the son of the late Joel and Rose “Peggie” Quint.
He spent most of his childhood and teenage years growing up in Newton. After high school, Steven served in the Coast Guard for several years. In 1976 he started his own business selling CB radios to his friends in his living room. Eventually he grew his company into one of the largest marine and boating catalogue retailers in the country. In addition, he had a successful career in real estate development. Steven had a passion for the ocean and the outdoors. He owned multiple boats throughout the years and enjoyed both shallow water and deep-sea fishing. Steven also had a passion for drag racing which began in his teens. That passion continued throughout the years and in his 60’s Steven owned a drag racing team with two cars. He also enjoyed clay shooting which simulates hunting birds in flight. He drove 80 miles twice a week to go clay shooting with friends. Steven is survived by his partner, Judy, his sons and grandchildren. He was predeceased in death by his three wives, Millie, Harrie and Kathy.
A graveside funeral service will be held at The Hull Village Cemetery, 5 Nantasket Avenue, Hull on Sunday, March 12th at 11AM. In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to the Jimmy Fund, P.O. Box 849168, Boston, MA 02284-9168.
