DAVIS, Sidney L.
Sidney, of Mashpee, formerly of Randolph, passed away on April 9, 2023 at the age of 87.
Loving son of the late Bessie and Philip Davis.
He was the beloved husband to Marlene, deceased, with whom they shared 62 years of marriage.
He is survived by his daughters Lynne Weinstein and her husband Joe Murray and Susan Costa and her husband Eduardo.
His greatest joy were his two grandchildren, Jeffrey Weinstein and his fiancé Lauren Spencer and Victoria Costa.
Also survived by his sister, Joan Lan, and nephews Stephen, Russell and Andrew Lan and nieces Risa Sablone and Jennifer Fitzpatrick.
He proudly served in the US Army Reserves.
Sidney started his career at Larkin Publications while in college and stayed with the company as it continued to expand into the trade show market. He became the group publications director and focused much of his time in the music trade industry. He was later awarded the 2002 Lifetime Achievement Award by the American Music Conference. He retired at age 78 after 55 years in publishing.
He always had a love for watching sports which he passed along to his grandson, Jeffrey. After retirement, he spent most Tuesday mornings participating in a local sports group discussion on the Cape. He would research his assignment every week and was noted to get a few standing ovations by his peers. He also wrote three biographies of former Boston Braves players for the Society of American Baseball Research.
His favorite winter travel was to Aruba with his wife Marlene, lounging by the pool or beach and then dining out in the evening.

Services will be held on Friday, April 14, 2023 at noon at Schlossberg Family’s Chapel on the Hill, 824 Washington Street, Canton, MA. Internment at Sharon Memorial Park. Shiva will be private.
