Ruth and I were friends since high school. My locker was next to hers for four years. She recruited me to work on our school newspaper together. It was a wonderful experience. This was back when they typed set the paper and we had to go to the printer to spell check and approve the print. PCs and Word had not been invented yet. She was devoted to her family, friends and causes and will be missed by all who had the privilege to know her.
