Rose Karas of Sharon, MA passed away peacefully, surrounded by her loving family on January 08, 2024 at the age of 95. She is preceded in death by her parents Samuel and Rebecca (Lieberman) Koretsky, her brothers Bernard Koretsky and Harry Koretsky, her sisters Nellie Litwin and Sarah Liben, and her husband of 60 years, Charles H. Karas. She is survived by her four children: her daughter Sheryl Karas and her partner Paul Hood, her son Mitchell Karas and his partner Albert Gordon, her daughter Adrienne Long, and her daughter Nadine Karas and her partner Leonard Killoran, her grandchildren: her grandson Joshua Bissell and his wife Rachael Bissell and her granddaughter Rebecca Gagen. Her great grandchildren: Eva Gagen, Theodore Gagen and Margaret Bissell.
Rose was known throughout her life as a virtuous, compassionate, and generous woman. She was a devout member of the Temple Sinai congregation and cherished her friends and community she found there. Her and her husband enjoyed traveling the world, but nothing compared to being with family. Rose was the beloved matriarch and will be dearly missed by all; however, her traditions, memories, and legacy will live on with all that knew her.
Rose’s funeral service will be held at 11AM, Thursday, January 11th, 2024, at Temple Sinai, 25 Canton Street, in Sharon, with the interment to follow at Sharon Memorial Park. Shiva will be held at the Karas residence on Thursday after sundown and continuing Saturday after sundown. In lieu of flowers remembrances may be made in Rose’s memory to Temple Sinai, 25 Canton Street, Sharon, MA 02067 or a charity of ones choice.
