Myrna Deborah Dickerson (née Parkin), aged 74, passed away peacefully on February 5, 2025, in Foxborough, Massachusetts. Born on October 24, 1950, in Brookline, Myrna spent her formative years in the community of Randolph. Myrna lived a life marked by dedication to her family, professional excellence, and a passion for the simple joys of life.
A member of the inaugural graduating class of the University of Massachusetts Boston, Myrna earned a bachelor’s degree in Sociology and Psychology. Her education laid the foundation for a remarkable career helping people and retiring as the President and Founder of M.D. Parkin and Associates, a national consulting and executive search company specializing in the semiconductor industry. Myrna was widely respected within her field for her unparalleled knowledge and expertise, earning admiration from colleagues and clients alike.
Myrna’s personal life was equally rich and fulfilling. She was a devoted wife to her husband, Simon L. Dickerson; a loving mother to her daughter Sakina Evans (Seth Evans) of Milton, MA; and a proud grandmother to her grandson Miles Evans. She also cherished her nieces Susannah Parkin of Austin, TX, Rachel Gonzaga (Pacifico Gonzaga) of Augusta, ME, and the many special relationships which she enjoyed over the years. Myrna was predeceased by her brother Leon Parkin and her parents Rose Parkin (Serisky) and Saul Parkin.
Known for her warmth and generosity, Myrna had an extraordinary ability to bring people together through her love of cooking, reading, traveling, enjoying a good laugh, and savoring great food. Her culinary skills were legendary among those who knew her, as was her passion for reading. She had an infectious spirit that left an indelible mark on everyone she met. To her family and friends, she was simply “the best” – an amazing wife, mother, grandmother, aunt, and friend whose memory will forever be cherished.
A private funeral service will be held at 11:00AM on Wednesday February 12, 2025, at Schlossberg Family’s Chapel on the Hill in Canton with a burial to follow at Sharon Memorial Park. A celebration of life will also be held at a later date.
Myrna’s legacy lives on through the countless lives she touched with her kindness and wisdom. May her memory bring comfort to all who knew and loved her.
