Michael Klein of Phoenixville, PA, formerly of Sharon, passed away on March 6, 2023 at the age of 76. Devoted son of the late Bernard and Jean (Andrews) Klein. Loving father to the late Jennifer Klein. Survived by daughter Rachael Johnson and her husband Brad Johnson of Phoenixville, PA. Adored grandfather of Jacob and Sierra Johnson. Dear brother of Russel Klein and Cathy Angelica.
Michael was born in Dorchester and eventually moved to Sharon, MA. He enjoyed playing with neighbors and assembling the neighborhood newspaper. He attended undergraduate school at the University of Chicago and later when on to complete his Medical Degree at Wayne State University with his brother Russell. From there, Michael completed his residency at Mallory Institute of Pathology in Boston. Michael then began working on staff as a Pathologist at Walter Reed where he stayed for many years. He later started his own practice in Columbia, Missouri and then returned to the New England area to serve as a pathologist at the VA Medical Centers in Providence, Rhode Island and Boston where he retired as Chief of Pathology. During his tenure at the VA in Providence, Michael also taught part time at Brown Medical School. In his free time, he was an avid woodworker who created beautiful works of art. He also enjoyed golfing and even in his later years a little cooking. He moved down to Phoenixville, PA in 2019 to be closer to his daughter’s family and enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren.
Michael’s funeral service will be held at 11am, Sunday, March 12, 2023 at Schlossberg Family’s Chapel on the Hill, 824 Washington Street in Canton, with the interment to follow at Sharon Memorial Park.
A memorial observation will be held at in Sharon on Sunday immediately following the burial between 1-5PM.
