Kostick, Marcia (Band), 94 , a longtime resident of Stoughton, peacefully passed away on Thursday, November 16, 2023, at Maples in Wrentham surrounded by her loving family. She was the beloved wife of the late George Edward Kostick. She was the daughter of the late Rabbi Rubin Band and Ida (Morrison) Band, the youngest of their seven children. Marcia was born in Leominster, MA and moved several times during her childhood including Leominster, Berlin, NH, Malden and Dorchester. She graduated from Dorchester High School for Girls. Marcia was a resident of Stoughton for 50 years and very active in the community. She was a bookkeeper/accountant working for her brother, Murray Band at Goldfarb and Band which later became Goldfarb, Band and Company including her son, Steven (Koop). Marcia worked primarily out of the office in Boston. Marcia provided clients with the best care, service, convenience and professionalism. Marcia continued to provide her bookkeeping services until she retired in 2013 at the age of 84. She was an active member of Congregation Ahavath Torah and of B’nai B’rith, she volunteered at Ahavath Torah, the Stoughton Food Pantry and as a chaperone at many Stoughton school events. An avid cook, knitter and mah-jongg player, Marcia also enjoyed attending all sports events and dance recitals for her kids and then grandkids. Marcia’s favorite past time was family gatherings often hosting 40 guests at a formal sit down dinner for any given holiday. She enjoyed preparing all of the food by hand and always had an open invite for additional guests. Holidays were always special to her, and she loved to host family and friends.
Marcia is survived by her children, Steven “Koop” Kostick of Dedham, Ellen “Elle” (Mosley) Lombardi and her husband Joe Lombardi of Easton. She was the beloved Grandmother of Rachyl and Kyle Mosley and step Grandmother of the late Nick Lombardi, Olivia and Deanna and her husband Cory Ahonen and step Great-Grandmother to Aliyah and Nico Ahonen. She was the sister of the late Dorothy Goldfarb, Pearl Anapol, Channon Band, David Band, Maurice Band and Myer Band and is also survived by many wonderful nieces and nephews.
A service will be held at Schlossberg Family’s Chapel on the Hill, 824 Washington Street, Canton, MA on Sunday, November 19, 2023, at 10:00 AM. After the service, interment will be held at Sharon Memorial Park. Following interment family and friends are invited to lunch at the chateau in Stoughton. The family will be sitting Shiva at the home of Elle and Joe Lombardi Sunday and Monday evening from 4:00 – 8:00 PM.
