Leonard M. Burg, a long time  Sharon resident, passed away peacefully on April 24, 2025 at 96 years of age. For 68 years he was the beloved  husband of Elinor (Cooperstein) Burg, and the loving father of twin daughters Amy Caplan & her husband Clifford of Sharon, and Susan Wexler & her husband Marc of Needham. Leonard was the cherished Papa of Meredith Caplan & her husband Russell Kling, Jonathan Caplan, Stephen Caplan & his fiancée Michelle Caplan, Douglas  Wexler & his wife Shelby and David Wexler. He was the  proud great grandfather of Lilah Kling, Audrey Kling, Dean Wexler and Sadie Wexler. He is also survived by his sister Phyllis Cohen and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents Oscar and Molly Burg, and his sister Roslyn Kesselman.

Lenny was happiest when surrounded by his family, who were the center of his world. At age 17, he enlisted in the U.S. Army and was a proud World War II veteran. He had a great sense of humor and a generous heart, always ready to lend a hand or offer support to anyone in need. He was an avid photographer, a devoted Boston sports fan, and a dog lover, who had a gift for making friends wherever he went. He will be dearly missed by all who knew him.

Funeral Services for Lenny will be held at Schlossberg Family’s Chapel on the Hill, 824 Washington Street, Canton on Monday, April 28, at 1:00PM. Interment to follow at Sharon Memorial Park, 40 Dedham Street, Sharon. Immediately following the burial, shiva will be observed at the home of Amy & Clifford Caplan, continuing Tuesday, 1 – 4PM and 7-9PM.

The family extends heartfelt thanks to the staff at New Bridge on the Charles, for their exceptional care and compassion.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to New Bridge on the Charles, Memory Support, 7000 Great Meadow Road, Dedham, MA 02026.
