LEONA GOREN April 10, 2025

Date of Funeral

April 17, 2025

LEONA GOREN lived to be 104 years “young”. Born in Boston, she was the daughter of the late Albert & Eva (Rofelsohn) Lippa. Her mother, Eva, was ahead of her time as a working woman. She was an LPN pediatric nurse who took care of newborn’s when women left the hospital. Her father Albert Lippa was a quiet man who owned a fish store. She was the middle child, growing up with her sisters, the late Sylvia Richman and Alma Lippa. Leona married David Goren, the love of her life, relatively late in life, compared to their contemporaries of their era. They enjoyed traveling and family. They did not have children, but she was a devoted aunt to Linda, her only niece.  Leona worked as a secretary at the Royal Insurance company and was cited and pictured in the Boston Globe for sending the first transcontinental Western Union Telex communication. Leona lived a life of devotion to the Jewish religion in celebrating not only the traditions but in demonstrating the principles of generosity, devotion  and kindness to all who knew her. She always spoke of life being a gift and that everyone should treat people with kindness. Everyone who encountered her loved her and felt her warmth and sincerity. A graveside funeral will take place at Sharon Memorial Park, 40 Dedham Street, Sharon on Thursday, April 17, 2025 at 2:45PM
