Joyce Ilene Goldstein December 31, 2024

Joyce Ilene (Karp)  of Randolph passed away on Tuesday, December 31^st, 2024, she was 78 years old. Born in Baltimore, she was raised in Boston by her late parents, Arthur, a Holocaust survivor, & Ginger (Schwartz) Karp. Ilene, as she was known, was the beloved wife of  Marc Goldstein and became the stepmother to his teenaged sons, Jason and Daron when she and Marc married. Eventually she became the grandmother of Kimberly, Harleigh and Kyira. The children of Jason & his late wife Carri and of Greyson and Ari, the children of Daron & his wife Joy. She was the great-grandmother of Madison and Jaxton. Ilene was the sister of Rabbi Harry & his wife Chayke Karp and Ross & his wife Elaine Karp. She was the doting aunt to Rabbi Naftali & his wife Rachel Karp, Rabbi Noah & his wife Miriam Karp and Shaindy Goldman & her husband Rabbi Yaakov Goldman. She was the great aunt to all of their children. Ilene’s warmth was contagious.

Her expertise in gardening and birding was enviable. Her gardens were a sight to behold. She did not do these things alone. Marc was always by her side working with her.no matter what the unpredictable New England  weather conditions might have been. Ilene’s dedication to caring for friends, family and especially for her mother, was amazing. She made it her business to check on the health and wellbeing of even distant relatives because she cared.

A graveside funeral service, under the Direction of Schlossberg Family’s Chapel on the Hill, will be held at the Vilno Cemetery, 776 Baker Street, West Roxbury, MA on Sunday, January 5^th at 1:00PM.
