Ida Becker of Stoughton, formerly of Randolph, passed away peacefully on February 16, 2023 at the age of 97. Devoted daughter of the late Morris & Fannie (Geller) Margolis. Beloved wife of the late Sidney Becker. Loving mother of the late Madeline Kramer and Lorrie Uminsky.
Ida was born in Chelsea, MA. She was a fashionable lady whose style was admired by all who knew her. She enjoyed a long career in retail before and after her marriage. Ida frequently accompanied her husband, Sidney, on business trips to New York City that they both enjoyed. She was a devoted caretaker to both her husband and daughter until their passing. Later in life, she found joy in extended family and spent many holidays in Stoughton, carving turkey, making kasha and baking banana bread. The car rides we shared with her were always filled with lots of lively discussion! She often commented how much she enjoyed her great nieces’ adventures, accomplishments and the time they spent with her. The staff at Heights Crossing: Compass became more like family than caregivers and she enjoyed her time there. Anyone who knew Ida would agree that she was a firecracker and 97 years of living did little to diminish her fire. She was the last of her generation in this family and will be missed by all who knew and loved her.
Ida’s funeral service will be held at 10AM, Friday, February 24, 2023, at Schlossberg Family’s Chapel on the Hill, 824 Washington Street in Canton, with the interment to follow at Sharon Memorial Park.
