Gloria Levine (nee Goodman) died peacefully at her home in Hingham, MA at age 98 on April 23, 2025. Born January 23, 1927, in Boston to Hyman and Ida Goodman, Gloria lived a life marked by compassion, dedication to family, and a commitment to those around her.
Gloria married the love of her life, Allan Z”l, in February 1948 and immediately became the matriarch of the family. To Gloria, family always came first, and she treasured her relationships with all of us. While she gave birth to two sons, her heart embraced four children: Steven and Esther, and Paul and Randi, as well as her beloved grandchildren: Rachel and Bernie, Sarah and Ken, Rebecca, Jessica and John; and great-grandchildren: Allie, Cassie, Sophie, Henry, Evan, Peter, Norah, Emily, and Theo.
Her message to all her family members was always, “Remember who loves you more,” sparking the loving reply, “No, we love you more.”
To know Gloria was to love her. She touched everyone she met in a very special way. She was a collector of people and made it her mission to get to know everyone she met, including strangers. She adopted them all and they became valued members of an extended family, quickly calling her “Grammy.”
Her gifts live on in the countless lives she touched and the values she instilled in her family and friends.
Gloria’s funeral service will be held at 10:30AM, Sunday, April 27th, 2025, at Schlossberg Family’s Chapel on the Hill, 824 Washington Street in Canton, with the interment to follow at Shepetovka Cemetery, 776 Baker Street, West Roxbury.
In lieu of flowers remembrances may be made in Gloria’s memory to the Alzheimer’s Association, 225 N Michigan Ave. Floor 17, Chicago, Il 60601, 800.272.3900, https:///www.alz.org
