Gerald Pessin, formerly of Mattapan, Quincy, Randolph, West Yarmouth, South Yarmouth and Hyannis passed away on July 3rd, 2023 after a long illness.
He was a wonderful son to his parents Anne and Leo Pessin, a devoted brother to David Pessin and his wife Jean Pessin of South Yarmouth, a loving husband to his wife Sheila Pessin who preceded him in death in August of 2019 and who he idolized and adored.
He is survived by his son Richard Pessin of Raynham, Leslie Borghetti and her significant other Robert Sherman of Wareham. He was the very best papa to his beautiful granddaughters Brianna Borghetti of Boston and Francesca Borghetti of the world.
Jerry, (know to many as “The Jerry”) and his wife Sheila enjoyed many lifelong friendships. Among them: Elaine and Alan Aarons, Helen and Bobby Karas, Alice and Bob Blumenson as well as many others.
Jerry lived his life fully; he embodied the lyrics of “My Way” by his favorite singer Frank Sinatra.
And now the end is here
And so I face that final curtain
My friend I’ll make it clear
I’ll state my case, of which I’m certain
I’ve lived a life that’s full
I traveled each and every highway
And more, much more
I did it, I did it my way
He was a licensed Hearing Aid Specialist. He was adored by his clientele, admired and respected as “The machine” by his colleagues for his sales production. A true leader, a real individual, people were naturally drawn to him. He was a hard worker from a very young age. He was an entrepreneur owning a few different businesses. He began his career in dry cleaning industry but soon realized it wasn’t his passion. He then began a more meaningful career in the hearing aid business where he found his true calling, helping others.
He especially loved his family and friends, Cape Cod, the beach, the sun, going out for dinner and Fanta orange soda.
A funeral service will be held at Schlossberg Family’s Chapel on the Hill, 824 Washington Street, Canton on Wednesday, July 05 at 2PM. Interment to follow at Sharon Memorial Park, 40 Dedham Street, Sharon, MA. Donations in Gerald’s memory may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association of Massachusetts online at: www.ALZ.org.
