Elaine Adler Hoch was born on November 21, 1934 . She is predeceased by her parents Samuel and Claire Rosenberg and her two sisters, Nina and Marsha. Elaine grew up in the Bronx and in 1953 she married her childhood sweetheart, Freddy Adler. They left the Bronx and moved to ”the country”, Tarrytown, NY and eventually to Hartsdale, NY where they raised their children, Ivy and Jamie. Elaine earned her real estate license in 1968 but spent most of her working life as an assistant to the vice president of an insurance company. After the death of her beloved Freddy, she found love again with Arnold Hoch to whom she married in 1973. With this union came a bonus daughter/sister, Joyce. Elaine and Arnold lived in Pittsfield, MA for a short time before moving back to Irvington, NY where they lived together until Arnold’s death in 1998. Elaine moved to Massachusetts to be closer to her daughter and lived there until her death on February 19, 2025.

She was a wonderful mother to her children, Ivy Meservey (Michael), Jamie Adler (Linda) and Joyce Howard (Rodney). A beloved grandmother to Matthew (Jessica), Steven (Kristin), Rebecca (partner Rob) and Amanda (Jordan); and great-grandmother to Isabella, Penelope, Hudson, Luca and Freddy.

A celebration of her life will be held at Schlossberg Family’s Chapel on the Hill, 824 Washington Street, Canton, on Sunday, April 27 at 2:00PM (www.schlossbergchapel.com).  Following the service an afternoon shiva will be held f at the home of Ivy and Michael Meservey.
