Dr. Gerald E. Sandberg, “Jerry”, of Attleboro, formerly of Foxboro and Sharon, passed away peacefully on August 3, 2022 at the age of 88.
He was the beloved husband of the late Roberta Sandberg, loving father of Melanie Sandberg, dear brother of Gloria Sobel, and devoted son of the late Sarah (Ackerman) and Dr. Samuel Sandberg.
He was the dear uncle of Donna Wehland, Ann Stout, Jerilyn Greenfield, Michael Shore, Cindy Cook, and the late Stephen Shore.
Born in Boston, he graduated from Boston University and Massachusetts College of Optometry. Jerry served in the U.S. Army and was an optometrist for nearly 50 years before retiring.
He was kindhearted and witty, and cared deeply for his family, friends, and patients.
He is missed by all.
Interment was held on August 18, 2022 at Massachusetts National Cemetery in Bourne, Massachusetts.
